Fog Project

A Fog Project, known formally as an open project, is where you are unclear on what you want and unclear on how you will achieve it. Typically, initiated as a reaction to a change in circumstance e.g. regulatory, legislative or social (salvage of the Cost Concordia from the eastern shore of Isola del Giglio) although it can be triggered proactively e.g. the company is implementing the next tranche of its strategy e.g. developing a brand new product / service for a new market.

The secret to success is to proceed carefully one step at a time with tight controls (time, cost, quality and safety).
